Andrea Feirstein

Bio

Andrea Feirstein currently serves on the Board of Directors of Strongpoint Partners. Andrea is the founder and CEO of AKF Consulting Group, an SEC and MSRB-registered municipal advisor, where she has advised more than forty public administrators on strategic aspects of State-run Investment Plans. AKF’s advisory services meet the highest standards of fiduciary duty and include program design and implementation, governance, fiduciary training, and more for public administrators’ state-run investment plans. Prior to founding AKF Consulting, Andrea was the Director of Citigroup Asset Management’s 529 college savings business. As Director, she oversaw the implementation of the State of Colorado’s multi-manager, multiple share class Scholars Choice, as well as the Bright Start College Savings product for the State of Illinois. Andrea began her career at Salomon Smith Barney’s Municipal Securities Division, where she was a Municipal Finance investment banker, and at Brown & Wood (now Sidley Austin), where she was a bond lawyer. In sum, Andrea has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including in public finance and investment management.

Andrea is also an experienced Board Member. She currently serves on three New York City public authority Boards, chairing the Finance Committee for each, and has served as a Board Member of the National Institute of Public Finance and the Gift of College Inc. Andrea received her J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law and her B.S.F.S. in International Finance and Economics from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
