Prior to being a founding member of Shore, Mike worked at Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based middle market private equity firm with approximately $2.5 billion of capital under management. While at Wind Point, Mike completed the acquisition of Vertellus Specialties, a specialty chemicals manufacturer in Indianapolis. Mike also assisted in operational matters with several of Wind Point's portfolio companies. Prior to joining Wind Point, Mike worked at UBS Investment Bank in both Chicago and New York, where he provided merger and acquisition advisory services and debt and equity financing for companies across a diverse set of industries including industrial, alternative energy and financial institutions. Mike is a Director of five Shore Capital portfolio companies, Sirona Infusion, Access I.V., HomeCare I.V., Excel Rehabilitation Services and Michigan Rehabilitation Specialists.
Outside of the office, Mike is actively involved in fundraising for the ALS Therapy Development Institution, the world's largest ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) research facility located in Boston. Mike is also a member of the Board of Advisors for University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy, his high school alma mater. Mike also serves as a volunteer for the St. Jude Auxiliary Board of Chicago, which raises money and awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
Mike received a B.S.B.A., summa cum laude, in Finance and Management from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
